I see you staring at me with those blue tired eyes,
You sit across from me hoping I can help you figure out the truths from the lies,
You’ve been through so much pain and so much sorrow,
Yet you have never given up on your tomorrow,
You have been defeated and now find yourself sitting here exhausted,
Confused about how your dreams have not come true,
Saddened by the disappointments you’ve been through,
I see you there sitting across from me in a bubble,
Trying so desparately to maintain your struggles,
I see a soul that is capable of so much greatness,
You dedicate your life to making progress,
Here you are now a lone soldier with battle wounds,
Waiting for me to hold you up and help you through,
Though I try despararely to give you strength and hold you up,
I have come to realise that I am not the one,
Who should be protecting you from your fears,
Or even the one best to wipe away your tears,
I am not the one who has been sent to hold your hand
Or to guide you through this big open land
And even though there isn’t much that I can do,
I will forever sit here across from you,
Opening my heart and reminding you kindly,
To love yourself and to stop living blindly,
To never let the pain get through,
To the centre of your light and being, to your big brave heart thats always beating
My dear we all have our paths of truth to follow,
But if you have faith and believe in love then you will always overcome sorrow.
