Energy..

Some people have an energy, that draws you in and makes you wonder what it would be like to let go into their warmth, love and positivity. Some people can make you dream, wonder and get lost in the utopia of all that could be but may never come. Some people can calm you down just by being around you. Some can heal the pain with their laughter or help you see the light within by sharing simple words of truth and wisdom.

Everyone has an energy that they put out into the world, but in the busyness and speed in which we are consumed it can be hard to pause and feel the vibrations around us. Oh but when you stop and notice, you can feel the depth of your soul and how vast we all are.

On my daily commute in and out of work I find myself observing people and most often there are 4 types of groups that people fall into:

1) the sad and worried individuals, who you can tell haven’t smiled for a while. Maybe they’re going through a tough time, maybe they’re unwell, maybe they are craving love and affection; who knows. But there are always people who look and feel down and this is heartbreaking.

2) the consumed and digitised; the ones that are glued to their phones, tablets and have headphones on; completely absorbed into another world, oblivious to the pregnant woman walking in, the sad individual next to them or anything else around them. I used to be guilty of this, until I realised that every moment I am on my phone or on social media, is a moment lost where I can serve myself better.

3) the tired, the ones who sleep on their commute; it’s an hour commute but they always use the opportunity to sleep. I love the occasional nap also when I’ve been unkind to myself the night before by staying up 2 hours too long, getting my daily dosage of netflix, TV or social media. Oh how we don’t realise that it’s just not worth it!

4) the rare ones, the ones who have a smile on their face for no apparent reason and with nothing to distract them apart from an occasional book. These individuals they’re present, here, now. If you spot them you instantly get drawn into the present moment with them; but of course they only come by ever so often.

If you look around you’ll notice the energy that each person radiates; the ones who make you feel alive and happy without any apparent reason, they’re the ones that can light up your soul and give you precious moments to keep sacred. I often wonder what energy I put out in the world and I hope that it serves those around me in the most positive and loving way.

But often I know that I am consumed with busyness, deep in thought about my to do lists or the next problem I need to solve for. Instantly I recognise I don’t smile enough, laugh enough or drown myself in the pool of joy, fun and love. How can I radiate something that I don’t indulge in myself?

Everyday is a new day to help me tap into the depths of me that serve me and others. Everyday I have moments where I succeed and moments where I don’t and that has to be ok.

Everyday what I know for sure is that I am so grateful for those around me who show up with an energy that heals me and others, that inspires me to be better, that reminds me that all it takes is a smile, a positive attitude and enthusiasm. These people, whether they be strangers, friends or family help guide me back to the present moment. These people, they’re gods gifts and life’s cheerleaders, reminding you to keep on going.

Love Always,

Miss Dreamer
