A couple of years ago I wrote a blog about the 7 daily superheros in my life back home in Sydney. Some time has passed and so much has changed and more superheros have crossed my path that I just have to acknowledge them.
I want to start with Miss Wisdom, she has been such an insightful and supportive person since I moved here. As a local Brit, she gave me the confidence that I will be loved and accepted as I am and that I don’t have to shy away about being my authentic self. She is such a beautiful soul though I don’t know if she realises this herself, but I feel so blessed to have her as my support rock here. So much wisdom, so much understanding, she has given me strength to be myself.
Next up would be Miss Truth, she has been the biggest surprise of all because I wasn’t expecting to find a best friend in her. She is unapologetically herself and always speaks her truth, what you see is what you get and you know where you stand with her. I admire her fire, her sensitivity, her loyalty, her quirks and everything she has to offer. She is one of my favourite people and I’m so glad that we have been able to share this adventure together.
Then there is Miss Balance, she is everything! I feel so safe, loved and free around her. She is an incredible human being and I feel absolutely honoured to call her my friend. She has been the safe harbour that I retreated to whenever I had fear, worry or pain. Just being around her makes me a better person. Her calm energy is contagious and the world is a better place because of her.
Then there is Mrs Trust, my landlord. She gave me a home here, she let me into her family and showed me that strangers can be kind, trusted and embraced. I’ve learned so much from her. I’ve learned to love myself, to be ok with who I am, to live my life the way I dream and to trust that good things are around the corner. I have so much admiration, respect and gratitude towards her!
There is Miss Reflection, she has also helped me learn so much about myself because she understands me and my craziness without me having to even explain it! It’s like speaking to my own reflection, she is the same type of crazy as I am. I knew her back home but never had a relationship with her, little did I know that on this journey I would come to find a friend who can help me understand my fears so that I can set myself free from them. She’s been there, so she knows. She’s so strong, so beautiful, so warm.
Onto Miss Fierce, who reminded me of my capabilities, beauty, strength and value. She reminded me that the world is a tough place and there will always be people who will put you down but that you can’t buy into their lies because the truth doesn’t need external validation. She reminded me of me, before I felt weak and lost. Oh the way she is in the world, she’s going to go places and I can’t wait to see where that is.
And finally, the biggest superhero of all is Mr Kind; I underestimated the healing power of kindness. He shows up in the world in a way that brings with it light, love and bliss. His kindness is second to none and it’s because of that kindness that I am constantly inspired to be a better person. He makes my world a better place and I am forever grateful to him for that.
There are many other special souls that have had a big impact on my journey here; all of whom I’m so incredibly grateful for and inspired by. This is the beauty about people, everyone has something special about them, it’s only about whether or not we pause to recognise their greatness.
Be great, see great.
Love Always,
Miss Dreamer
