Mornings are such a blessing. I’ve missed the stillness and the pause that comes with it. Before the pandemic I had gotten into such a rush mode where I was chasing my days and always falling behind. No matter when I woke up or when I went to bed I was tired. I felt like the days dictated the rhythm of my dance and I was unable to pause no matter how many times I stopped to become present.
With the pandemic forcing me into scenarios that I would not actively choose, I realise that there are blessings in these undesirable and heartbreaking times. Yes there is so much loss, grief and pain but there are also opportunities for us to experience ourselves in a way that we may possibly never have done. For me, it’s appreciating what the mornings have to offer. When everyone is still asleep and you wake up realising that you are being blessed with another day at life. Now more than ever, I am sensitive to how precious each moment has become. We are so vulnerable to mortality as humans and yet we feel invincible. There is a fine line between managing our thoughts, so that we don’t become anxious about our fragility and remembering that each moment is a gift that is denied to many.
In the mornings, when you first wake up you have the opportunity to notice your breath. There is a little pause between your body and soul aligning in a seamless way, in that very moment saying thanks for that breath can shift your perspective for the whole day. What’s more, if you have the opportunity to incorporate a morning routine that helps you thrive, then you are well and truly able to make the most of the silence that is being wrapped around you as a gift.
I know it’s hard right now, there are so many things that we have on our minds. For some, there are some really big issues and losses that they are juggling. My heart aches for those who have lost loved ones, lost jobs, struggling to put food on the table, don’t have access to medical care and or are risking themselves on the front line. There are so many of us that are going through so much hardship right now, it’s easy to feel helpless.
For those of us who are fortunate enough to have the basics covered, we have the opportunity to increase our vibration, even if for a moment, so that we can send healing, love and light to those who need the most. Taking care of ourselves, is how we can help take care of the human consciousness as a whole. There is no act that is purely selfish or selfless, we are all connected and we can help create waves of energy that is healing.
When you wake up in the mornings, take a pause to notice yourself. To notice the world around you, to say a prayer for those that have hard days ahead of them. If you have a hard day ahead of you too, know that you can and will get through these difficult times because we all have hero’s deep within us.
Take that breath, give yourself the gift of presence. Help yourself heal just a little as you notice the day start.
We will find our way out of this.
Love Always,
M
