I have landed on the word clarity for this year’s intention. At first I was resisting the urge to set this as my intention for this year, out of my own stubbornness from a conversation I had with a recent ex-colleague. But, I know I can be proud and when I’m confronted by what I consider to be my insecurity, I feel vulnerable and therefore get stubborn. We all have a defence mechanism that we apply when we hear something we don’t wish to. I kept noticing that all the signs around me were redirecting me towards the intention of clarity. So I put both my pride and stubbornness aside and accepted that it is time to face the hard questions that come with this intention.
When you are seeking clarity in your life, you need the courage to face all the truths that will revealed; which you may not be ready to hear nor accept. It’s not as simple as a term as you may consider it to be at first, because it requires you to go in deep and ask some hard questions about what you want. Sometimes when you’re in the midst of your Soul Journey, evolving from one phase to another, asking these questions can be rather painful and incredibly vulnerable. It is your future self who is asking the question, but more often than not it’s your current self responding; which ultimately means, you’re resisting the transformation that is ahead of you.
I know that there will be more failures than wins on this particular journey, but failure has such bad connotations attached to it, so the first thing I need to make clear for myself is that failure is the outcome of attempts and attempts are what lead to progress. So, I will work on seeking some form of comfort with failure, even though at present the mere thought of this is making me feel somewhat anxious. But that’s normal and I need you to know that too, for your own personal Soul Journey. Be not afraid of the fear, instead, be excited about the joy that you are working towards.
I’ve written the below poem to help remind me of why I want to seek clarity, it’s necessary for this part of my Soul Journey. I hope it resonates for others on their Soul Journey too.
Let it be true:
Let it be true,
All that your heart desires,
Let it be the light that guides you,
Let it be the path that you follow,
The land that you pass,
The journey you take,
Let it be both the compass and the lighthouse.
Let it be true,
That fire within you,
Don’t be afraid of how fiercely it burns,
For it was meant to keep you warm in the winter months,
It was designed for your purpose only,
So you must keep it lit,
Protect it from the winds,
From those that may want to blow it out,
Let it not deter you when they try to sneak in,
Steal everything you hold within you,
Then tell you that you are not enough,
That you are not worthy,
That you can’t, you shouldn’t and you won’t dare,
You know the fire,
You have the courage,
You know the way.
Let it be true,
Your heart, it guides you,
It is the only question you seek,
And the only answer you need,
So let it not be lost in the hands of others,
Who would rather bury you alive,
Then to let you wonder.
Let it be true,
That desire within you,
That courage within you,
