Sunday Joy

I’m in lockdown in Sydney, I have a lot to get done and I’m still swimming in a pool of uncertainty. But you know what, it’s nothing that some upbeat music, dancing and some sunshine can’t fix. To enjoy life we have to be present for the moments that are light and airy. The ones that we can choose to celebrate when they present themselves, so that we don’t constantly dwell on the what if’s, the if buts, the only if thoughts that we find on replay in our minds.

There will always be reasons to be upset and or whinge about, but equally there will always be enough beauty around us that deserves our attention. Like the sheer fact that we have the opportunity to have another day, despite our personal challenges and the obstacles that we face.

There are so many privileges and opportunities granted to those of us who are blessed enough to have our basic needs met in life. It’s important to never take for granted how there are billions of people who are facing adverse situations that I can’t even get myself to think of because of how heartbreaking they are.

There is no need for comparison in life, because we each have our own unique journey but it’s important to have and maintain a perspective that will enable each of us to live a life that is rich in gratitude, abundant in generosity and defined by kindness.

On this Sunday morning I’m going to pay attention to the little things that I can do to sprinkle a little more joy in my life. The upbeat music, the gratitude of the blessings afforded to me and the sun shining. These are enough to get your vibration up and rising. To energise you enough to face the adversity and the uncertainty that is in your life.

This week, I pray for strength and perseverance for all of humanity.

I pray that there will be more acts of kindness and generosity than hatred and greed.

I pray that we each help make the life of just one other person better, even if it’s through a small gesture of acknowledging them with a smile.

I pray that all those going through tremendous grief have peace flood through their hearts.

I pray that no one is facing challenging moments alone.

I pray that we remember that we are all part of a collective consciousness, one where we can inject love and kindness into, even if it’s just through being kind towards ourselves.

I pray that we do what we can do to create a brighter future for the next generation.

I pray that we forgive ourselves for any sins, mistakes and failures.

I pray that we can find the beauty in our lives and that we don’t forget that we have the ability to create heaven or hell out of our daily experiences.

I pray that we can cleanse ourselves from guilt and shame. That we can bathe ourselves in the light of goodness and that we are able to open our hearts.

I pray for love and understanding.

I pray for truth.

Love Always,

M
