Present with Love…

I don’t know what lies ahead and I don’t know what will happen but I just hope that we will have the strength and the courage to face whatever that is meant to be. This particular poem was inspired by anyone that is in a long distance relationship, faced with uncertainty around what will happen. As hard as it is, it’s important to recognise the blessing in every moment because nothing is a given.

Present with love:

I can’t help the way that I feel,

I can’t help the way that things are,

I can’t do anything, but to hold on.

With every day that passes,

With every moment lost,

I feel defeated in my aching heart.

I don’t know what caused this and I don’t know why,

Things have to be this way, despite how hard we try,

It feels both cruel and unkind,

That life would bring us together, just to watch us die.

I don’t know what will come,

But I do know what has gone.

If our paths do not cross,

Then we need to pave the way,

For what life has intended to come our way.

It aches thinking that the stars may not align,

But I am going to stay here in the moment, where our love is still alive.
