There are always two side to a story. Your relationship will be what you make it depending on how you choose to show up for yourself and your partner. It’s a dance where both of you need to lead from time to time. The below poem was inspired by the reflections I’ve had recently about love, relationships and how as humans we can forget that at the end of the day we’re all trying our best.
Don’t lose yourself in the story of your relationships, be it romantic ones or otherwise. Remember that you are whole and loveable. Trust that you have all that you need within you and should you wish, you can source all the love you desire from your own heart.
Their Story..
Her story isn’t attached to his story,
Together they’re just drafting a paragraph in the book of their journey.
She sparkles, it’s amazing how much joy and light she can radiate.
He shines through all the darkness, it’s amazing how he can make you feel safe.
She has her secrets, her grief, her pain but none of that will be her story.
He is distracted by every moment so he never stops to feel the pain or the glory.
She wants so much but feels weighed down by the shackles she’s trying to unlock.
He is both lost and found, going through life waiting for someone to tell him what to want.
She is hopeful but she is down, always wondering what is going to come around.
He is trying, he really is, even though he is falling down and losing his grip.
She is determined to get through all the challenges and the struggles.
He is optimistic about his troubles.
She wants so desperately for him to be happy, hoping that he would wake up and realise he’s worthy.
He is torn between everything he needs to be and answers he needs to seek.
She will never beg, insist or pressure him to choose.
He is unaware of the pain that he is putting her through.
She is struggling to hold on, feeling as though there is no end in sight.
He doesn’t know that she cries every night.
She is losing all her energy and her faith.
He doesn’t know where to turn or how to fix this mess.
She needs to accept that life isn’t going to be perfect.
He needs to understand that life is what you make it.
She stopped searching for the answers inside of him.
He took a step back and realised he needs to mend.
She decided to focus on all the other things she loves.
He needs to find out what he wants.
Love Always,
M
