Life is about choices and the quality of those choices determines our overall experience. But life is also about fate, the underlying principle that what is meant for you will never pass you by.
Can both be true? I am starting to think yes.
There are certain experiences that we are meant to have, certain lessons we must learn and certain impacts we need to make. But what if there was more than one way to experience the above and what if both experiences had their own pros and cons?
It is possible to experience richness in life in various ways. To experience joy, love and contentment through opposing paths that lead to the same destination.
I am starting to see that it is possible to have a joyful life pursuing my current career and staying on the path I am on. But it is also equally possible to shift gears, pursue my passions and also experience a joyful life that will have different colours. It’s not that if I stay on this path I am doomed and if I pursue the other I will have bliss. The difference between the two is the first scenario requires a lot more deliberate reflection and focus in order to remember there is beauty around me. Whilst the latter will align to my natural vibration and so it appears like it may be the “only” path towards living a full life. I do believe living a values aligned life is important, so that we realise our dreams and talents. But that may not always be practical for us and so it is just as important to know how to enjoy the life we are living.
What if we changed our perspective from this vs that to ‘this’ and ‘so what’? Being able to appreciate what is in front of us is a hard task and one that requires a lot of deliberate action. This is where and why the power of choice is so important. We can choose to see the beauty over the “what if” scenarios that distract us. We can choose to be grateful for our blessings instead of always wishing things would be different.
This is where choice and fate meet. You see whether you take path A vs path B, fate will always take you down certain experiences that are written in the stars for you. How you choose to view your life, at any point in time, that will determine how much you make the most of this precious gift that has been given to you.
I am starting to pay attention to the beauty and the blessings; I am starting to observe what is around me now.
