Everyone who comes into our lives is giving us a gift, and unfortunately sometimes these gifts can be dark and heavy. So, if you hold onto them for too long, you can feel crushed under their weight. That’s why it’s important to unwrap the gift, understand what purpose it serves and let go of the rest.
We will meet all kinds of people and develop all sorts of relationships throughout our lifetime; the main relationship we need to preserve is the one between our soul, body and mind. With time and experience you learn how to let go of these heavy gifts and how to create the space for your heart to open to receiving gifts that are lighter and brighter.
This poem is dedicated to all the various types of people that we meet and remembering to retain our power despite our experiences with loss & pain.
Let them:
Let them say what they want,
Let them think how they wish,
No one else should ever be in control of your bliss.
Let them do what they feel,
Let them go where they want,
Don’t hold on to those who you have lost.
Let them move on,
Let them be free,
Remember life will always guide you towards what’s meant to be.
Let them limit you,
Let them try,
Remember to get up after you cry.
Let them love you,
Let them hold your hand,
Some people will truly understand.
Let them heal you,
Let them keep you warm,
Remember that true love doesn’t cause harm.
Let them see,
Let them hear,
You will not give up on love, despite all you fear.
Love Always,
M
