What are your success measures?
I used to think that success was the status you gained in your career and the wealth you cultivate for yourself. But I recognise now that material success is a very small portion of what real success meant to me.
As I reflect on the year that has been I can see that whilst there were many moments of turbulence, uncertainty and doubt there has also been growth, accomplishment and evolution. All in all, it’s been a good year, one that I will look back on fondly and remember as the year of hard time but good outcomes.
For me success is defined as internal shifts that help you grow and evolve on your Soul Journey. Based on that measure, this year has been a big success as I have:
- Gained clarity on my values and have actively taken steps towards injecting more of them into my life.
- I have built my courage so that I can unapologetically show up as my authentic self in various settings.
- I have grown my wisdom so that I can step out of the darkness and into the light.
- I have allowed my creative self to express her artistic perspective not just through pen and paper, but through paint and brush!
As I grow into the next chapter of my Soul Journey, I want to find ways to cultivate more of these internal shifts for myself. No doubt this will require more growth, letting go and discipline. If I want to generate more of the success that is meaningful to me, I need to be prepared to do the work.
Taking steps towards generating the type of success that ultimately brings you a sense of joy and fulfilment is important. Take the time to honestly ask yourself what does success mean to me and what am I willing to let go of in order to achieve it?
Go against the tide and pursue the things that bring you joy. Trust yourself and know that when you put your effort into the right places, you will get the outcomes that you deserve and you will achieve your version of success.
Love Always,
M
