Chance is an incredible thing.
So many things in our lives are occurring because of chance encounters. Every now and again we get the opportunity to recognise a chance encounter taking place. I adore these types of moments and have had a handful of these in my life. It is what has led me to my fiancé and also resulted in many of my dearest friendships and professional experiences.
My most recent experience was last night where serendipity was in play in the most unusual way. Chance brought me together with someone who I have bumped into over the past 2 years and who I have felt drawn to but never taken any action. It was his last night in town and we just happened to cross paths one last time so that we can exchange details before he sets off into his new chapter.
It’s moments like this where I feel the presence of God, moments like this where my attention becomes laser focused on the present moment and curiosity opens up my heart to what may come. There is no knowing what the purpose of these interactions are, but they’re beautiful and they’re impactful. I particularly love how moments like this highlight how every small decision leads us to exactly where are meant to be.
I’m not sure where this chance encounter will lead and what role we will play in each others lives, it doesn’t really matter either. The part that was precious for me getting the opportunity to see the string of events that led to that moment. These serendipitous moments leave a mark on our Soul Journey. Sometimes these moments are fleeting and momentary and other times they can lead into the most wonderful experiences.
Pay attention to the interactions you have and the mark you are leaving behind. What you desire you must be willing to leave behind. If it’s love you seek, then you must send love out into the world. If its beauty, then spread beauty in all your interactions. If it’s warmth you are hoping for, then give warmth to others when you speak to them. Allow yourself to be vulnerable so that you can be open to the vulnerability of others. When we walk around unafraid of each other we are allowing love to flourish in all its forms.
Create space for people to surprise you and for connections to be formed.
Here is to every interaction leading us down the path that we were always meant to go.
