Today is a special day as my partner and I are going to celebrate our engagement with our immediate family and closest friends. Love is not beautiful because it’s perfect, love is beautiful because it’s brutally challenging and yet if you persevere you can find glimpses of consciousness there in the mix of all the ego that makes it worth it!
So here is a small dedication to the special day and to my partner.

Dearest as we embark on this new chapter I want to say thank you.
I know at times I’ve not been easy to be around and that there have been many a times where I’ve tested your patience and forgiveness, but I am grateful that you have extended them to me time and again.
Dearest, as we step towards a new future where there is not just a you and an I but an US, I hope that I can bring a balance to our lives that our love deserves.
I hope that we can each find ways to grow as individuals so that when we are together we are able to come with a heart that is full and a mind that is at peace.
Dearest, as we celebrate this milestone with our family and friends I hope that we get to spend many more together.
Celebrating our engagement is the first step towards the path that we are going to weave together. There is no knowing how long this path is and or how many curves it has but I hope our threads continue to compliment each other.
Dearest, I know there is a lot of healing that we must still go through so as you lick your wounds and I lick mine, let us celebrate that we have each others company to provide comfort when times get hard.
Dearest, I know that there will be challenges ahead, but I have your back and you have mine and even if we can’t always support each other the way we deserve let us know that we will always try.
As we start a new chapter with a new sound track and a new dance let us come together with the best of intentions, best of hopes and our full selves to create a foundation where we can set off together.
