We all have dreams but not many of us have the ability or opportunity to chase those dreams. This is a hard truth to digest, because it means only some of us are privileged enough to be able to pursue our deepest desires and ambitions.
In a world with so much suffering, those who do have this privilege need to take the chance, but of course it’s so difficult to step into the unknown and pursue a dream that you deeply hope for.
I’ve seen it time and time again, how many of us shut down any hint of hope, desire, wish and wonder because we’re too afraid and or too stuck. I know that I too find it difficult to step out of what is safe, expected and clear into the uncertainty that is motivated by nothing except a vision. It takes courage, it takes a lot of support, a lot of strength and determination.
I keep saying maybe one day, but one day will be never if I don’t make it today. So I ponder on all the limiting beliefs that are holding me back, sitting with them, understanding them so that I can undo them and step into the uncertainty with more courage.
Your dreams don’t have to be big and bold, they just have to be authentic to you. I take my hat off to anyone that can pursue their authentic dream, to anyone who can live in the space of courage. May your efforts reap you the fruits that you desire and may you continue to inspire those around you. This poem is dedicated to anyone who has a dream. Let yourself fly:
Dream My Dear:
Dream away, dream all you want.
What you desire is where you heart loves.
Seek the truth, be prepared to let go.
All that you wanted, is all that you know.
Whatever mountains you climb, whatever depths you dive,
Your heart will wonder, carrying you through the night.
Dream dear one, don’t listen to what they say.
It’s hard to let go of the need to stay.
Spread your wings and don’t fear flying.
I know that deep down you have the courage to keep on trying.
Flap your wings, let yourself soar.
You don’t belong here on the ground where the world roams.
Dream darling, dream big things.
Let me set you free from all these strings.
Trust yourself, let yourself shine.
You’re not meant to stay here and cry.
If you fear what may come, remind yourself that you’ve always found the sun.
So as you go, far away, towards the sky, out of this rain,
Don’t forget who you are, you were always meant to fly high amongst the stars.
Love Always,
M
