There is no manual for being human. There is no instructions or step by step process. No one has any clue what they are doing. Some are crippled by this, constraining themselves and some are empowered; finding different ways to explore the boundaries around them. This then creates a false reality that some know what they are doing and are out there living their best lives and others are stuck and lacking the clarity and confidence to pursuit their goals and aspirations. Seeking any sense of direction, know-how, guidance, wisdom, skills or tips from those who seem to have the “answers” to being human.
This being human is nothing but a series of stories we tell ourselves and the experiences we go through. This being human can be as hard or as easy as we make it. This being human is complex and yet simple at the same time. This being human is confused with doing what we think humans should be doing. This being human is a journey of self-discovery, self-healing, self-loving path that in turn enhances our capacity to love and connect with others who are also on their own unique Self journey.
This being human isn’t fair, there is no equity in the stack of cards that we are being dealt. This being human, comes with great amounts of pain, grief, loss and even suffering. This being human isn’t pretty, it isn’t tranquil, it isn’t steady. It is just a series of events, lessons and opportunities that enable us to grow or shrink. This being human, is a choice. A hard choice and one that we don’t even realise we are making.
So there is no manual, there is no right way, there is no point in comparison. There is no one path, one way, one truth. There is only examples of how being human can manifest itself and we have the opportunity to choose what colours to paint with and what we want to paint. We have the choice of fighting for our journey and standing tall in our own truth. We just need to embrace this and be ok with not being ok, not being the same, not being liked and not being validated. We need to cut the umbilical cord with the norms and standards that have been imprinted on us, so that we can create new connections that are aligned with our authentic Self.
One step at a time. One moment at a time. One breath at a time. And if you ever feel like you are failing at being human, just remember you have created a new path that has never been walked before and so you have climbed your own mountain in search of your truth.
Love Always,
M
