Surrender the beliefs that flood your mind and take over your heart.
Surrender the fear, the pain, the punishment.
Let go of all that does not serve you and allow yourself to BE without all the things that sink you down to the depths of darkness. This is the constant journey of self-evolution; a journey that will be full of pain if you resist and full of joy if you learn how to release and let go.
The measures of progress don’t apply to spiritual work, because progress is inherently an egotistical way of experiencing life. Self-evolution is not about ticking boxes of self-growth and celebrating wins that are only making your ego more sophisticated. Self-evolution is about wonder, curiosity, allowing things to come through, ebbs and flows, acceptance, observations, relaxing, being and releasing.
Self evolution doesn’t guarantee you freedom, but it does grant you with the choice to release. Not just from those things that are external to you, but the release of all that we are tied to in our minds.
Can we truly be free if we continue to replay thoughts that harm us? Thoughts like:
I can’t do this
I am not worthy of love
I’m not enough
I’m horrible
I’m stupid
I’m crazy
I’m too much
I’m difficult
I’m …..
What we think of ourselves ultimately determines how small or big our cage is. Now let’s flip it, how many of our thoughts are expanding us? Thoughts like:
I’m super great
I’m capable
I’m funny
I’m gorgeous
I’m generous
I’m smart
I’m resourceful
I’m great company
I’m….
If the thoughts are constantly putting us down, then we will seek relief from those that are outside of us. What we seldom don’t pause and reflect on is that others are no better off, and that they too are seeking the same relief from the outside world. The dynamics that arise between two humans can either set them free from their own thoughts or further entrap them in the beliefs they had to begin with. I suppose that’s what a toxic relationship is vs a healthy one.
You can either allow your thoughts to drown you or you can drown out your thoughts. The choice is ours, and one that will take a lifetime to recognise and appreciate.
Set yourself free from your own thoughts.
Love Always,
M
